Thank you to everyone who came to St Martin’s yesterday and made the day so special. It was wonderful to see so many friends from Highclere, Woolton Hill, Ashmansworth and Crux Easton at the Benefice Communion service. This was the last in the Benefice’s August ‘pilgrimage’ programme where we visit each church in turn during the month. Special thanks to Christine for leading the service so well and to Mike for another excellent sermon.
Then at 12.00 we welcomed five new young members who were baptised by Christine. Thank you to the two families who decided to have their children (all beautifully behaved!) christened at St Martin’s. Thank you also to all the other families who attended the service. I hope you enjoyed yourselves and will come again soon, especially to our monthly Family Service which is designed specifically for children and young people.
Now we are at the end of August we revert to our standard monthly pattern of services, starting with Evensong on 4th September. I always find the service, on a Sunday evening, a good way to prepare for the week ahead and I very much hope we shall see you there.
