In this the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare’s death, stylish vocal ensemble Stile Antico presents a beguiling selection of music inspired by the Bard, with works by his contemporaries, including Thomas Morley and Robert Johnson, alongside music connected to the great events of his lifetime. Completing this fascinating picture are brand-new settings of Shakespeare’s poetry by Nico Muhly and Huw Watkins, composed especially for Stile Antico.

Stile Antico’s expressive performance arises from a uniquely collaborative style of working; the members rehearse and perform as chamber musicians, each contributing artistically to the stunning musical results.

St Martin’s at East Woodhay has become the Festival’s preferred venue for intimate choral music, and is delighted to welcome the 12-strong ensemble which has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious venues, thrilling audiences with their fresh, vibrant and moving performances.

Daniel Mulhall will also reflect on Yeats's role as an interpreter of the Ireland of his time and as a powerful cultural link between Britain and Ireland today.
