We officially said goodbye to Suki Coe at a special service at St Thomas's Church on 8th June. Suki had been a member of the Benefice worshipping community for many years and became a Licensed Lay Minister a few years ago, leading numerous services at St Martin's and the other churches since then. This was especially valuable during the interregnum period after Canon Christine retired and before Revd Lisa took office, and we are all enormously grateful.
Suki was ordained in Exeter Cathedral on 28th June. This was a very special occasion summed up by Revd Lisa in her recent newsletter:
“Congratulations to Suki on her ordination as deacon in a beautiful service at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday, June 28th. There was an excellent turn out from the benefice, much joy and an opportunity to see Suki’s curacy church, St David’s in Exeter. Her sheer delight on the day is a testament to the grace of God at work in her life. A grace that God freely offers to us all.”
Our loss is very much St David’s gain!
