General Synod of the Church of England voted in February 2020 for the whole of the Church of England to achieve net zero carbon by 2030.
Since September 2025 St Martin’s Church has been heated by air source heat pumps, electric power generated by solar panels and stored in batteries - resulting in net zero emissions of carbon dioxide, annually.
